Jessie was an Olympian in 2012 competing in the 4x400m relay. 2012 was a breakthrough year for Barr as she also made the final at the European Track and Field Championships in Helsinki placing eight in the 400m Hurdles. The University of Limerick graduate went on to compete at the 2013 World University Games and placed sixth in the final. She is the current U23 Irish Record Holder for the event with a time of 56.62. Jessie is studying a master’s qualification in Sports Psychology at Bath University and has a younger brother Thomas Barr who also represents Ireland in the 400m hurdles.
