The AAI women's league champions from last year Abbey AC take on their biggest challenge to date when they travel to Istanbul, Turkey this coming weekend 27/28 May for the European Club championship. The Northern Ireland based club whose driving force is Bobby Rea (doubles as Chairman of the NIAF ) face stern opposition from the champion clubs of Holland, Croatia , Denmark, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland.Their best prospects for success rest with Irish internationals Elaine McCaffrey 400 metres and Laura Kerr javelin.
