Academy Hosts London 2012 Day, Dublin Athletic Board Coaching Programme

The Academy of Irish Athletics will host a day of practical sessions and workshops entitled “London 2012 How Do We Get There?” at ALSAA Sports Complex on Sunday 16th. October. The Academy now in its second year brings together over 200 of the country’s young athletes to help them together with their coaches to plan their athletic careers. The European Athletics Support Programme has supported the Academy for 2005. This is a much sought after programme funded by The EAA to assist federations with programmes that meet stringent criteria and is the first occasion that Ireland has received such approval and support. The day’s activities in ALSAA will also include a Key Note Speaker who will outline their career and the work involved to compete at World Championship and Olympic Level from a base in Ireland. Dublin Athletic Board Coaching Programme The third session of the Dublin Athletic Board Coaching programme for 2005/6 will be held at Morton Stadium on Monday next October 10th @ 6.30 p.m. This is the third session of a comprehensive schedule of coaching and competition and jumps will the subject on Monday with Paddy Shannon in charge, Coaches and athletes are invited to come along. Terry McHugh has conducted a Javelin session and Jim Kilty a Sprints one as the programme has been rolled out. Full details are available on www.dublinathletics.com
