Following on the success of the ‘Little Athletics’ programme where clubs that sent three leaders on an ‘Athletics Leader’ courses and registered 20 young people between the age of 5 and 10 as members of their club with AAI, qualified to receive our ‘Little Athletics Packs’, Athletics Ireland are now extending their Club Support Scheme. The next level of our club support Scheme, our Juvenile Athletics Packs are available to clubs that have three Level 1 Coaches (at least two of whom must have completed our new Level 1 course, one can be a previously qualified Level 1 coach) registered with Athletics Ireland, and 20 young people between the ages of 11 and 14 registered with Athletics Ireland. Almost 100 clubs throughout the country have benefited from the Little Athletics scheme. As with the Little Athletics Scheme, clubs will apply through their local Regional Development Officer for the Juvenile Athletics Packs. Clubs should complete the form with full details and registration numbers of both coaches and athletes and return the form to the relevant RDO (contact details on website).
