It is with deep sadness that Athletics Ireland have learnt of the passing of Brian Corcoran who passed away last night Sunday August 15th at home with his family.

Our deepest condolences to Brian’s family, friends, and clubmates in Raheny Shamrock AC.

Brian gave a huge amount to athletics in Ireland as an athlete, coach and administrator.

Brian was part of the Raheny Shamrock's first ever national championship winning side in 1970, as well as winning multiple Dublin, Leinster and national titles.

Brian would go onto become one of the most respected coaches in the country which included his role as national hurdles coach.

May he rest in peace.
