The third get-together of the Connacht Regional Squad will take place this Saturday, December 1st at the Westwood Hotel and the Galway Regional Sports Centre. All squad members are invited to attend along with their club/school coach. The day will begin at 12:00 with a presentation by dietician Aoife Hearne who will discuss nutrition for young athletes. Please note that this discussion will take place in the Westwood Hotel, just a short walk from the Regional Sports Centre. This presentation should be of significant interest to all young athletes, their parents and coaches. Incidentally Aoife was a superb athlete herself and ran 11.73 for 100m at the age of 18, a perfrmance that ranks 8th in the Irish all-time list. Afterwards, a practical session will take place on the track at the Regional Sports Centre, Dangan led by Connacht Regional Coach Mary Barrett. The feedback on these sessions to date has been very positive with athletes and coaches finding them very useful.
