The Irish team for The European Cross Country Championships in Tilburg on Sunday next suffered a major blow this afternoon with the withdrawl of Alastair Cragg from the squad. Alastair who had recently returned to competition in The USA felt unwell after a training session in Arkansas yesterday and postponed his flight until to-day. However he still felt the flu like symptoms to-day and decided not to travel" It is disappointing but unless I could be 100% there is no point in going to such a competitive race" was how he described his decision to withdraw. The womens team lead by Jolene Byrne will now be the main focus with the Junior Mens squad lead by European Junior Silver medallist Danny Darcy also expected to challenge for team medals.
