Today some athletes didn't wake up as it was the long awaited rest day..except for a few unlucky ones who had no choice but to enter the pool at the crack of dawn for an Aqua jog session and some with track workouts. The lads didn't find it any easier today in the pool as they were instructed by Siobhra to "Man Up".

Nike Store

The nerves were high and the tension was real as the athletes entered the bus on their way to the Nike Store in Albuferia. Louise and Isabel were first to the bus securing their front seats and ready to battle for the limited small sizes in the Nike store "World War 3". Even the cross country athletes had a turn of pace when the bus came to a halt, however it was the track stars (Louise and Kevin) who got to the store first. The Nike store was raided, there was a lot of grabbing and all of the athletes picked the first things they saw and raced to the dressing rooms. After a lot of money spent, the tired and satisfied athletes (except Hope who was late again!!!) packed onto the bus once again beaming with all of their new Nike purchases.

Time Trial

The athletes gathered at the track to watch the long awaited time trial. But first up was Jack who was doing a session of 400's. While he ran by, everyone admired his brand new spikes which he was afraid would get dyed red by the track like everyone else's backsides!! Next up was Shanes time trial. He was being paced by Thomas , Cian, Kevin and Ronnie hanging on for dear life. Unfortunately Kevin was still fatigued from his sprint to the Nike store with Louise (which he lost) and filled with lactate in the last 200m. The crowd was filled with cheers as Shane crossed the line.

Long Run

Steve and Joe treated themselves to another meal out (4th night in a row) as Steve was on cooking duty and once again forgot to defrost the meat. All of the athletes had a chilled night in camp as they winded down for their long run in the morning,
