The AAI has finalised the Irish team to compete in the European Cup of Race Walking at Leamington Spa on 20th May. A team will participate in the senior mens 20K and the other events will feature strong individuals who are very experienced at senior level. Olive Loughnane, Colin Griffin and Rob Heffernan have already qualified for the World Championships and Olympics while Jamie Costin will be hoping to reach the standard in the 50K. Jeff Cassin makes the team due to his good form in recent weeks while Laura Reynolds and Paul Fitzpatrick will be hoping to post fast times in the Junior events. The European Cup promises to be a very competitive race with many of the world's best athletes participating. This should ensure fast paces and an ideal opportunity to secure times or test fitness in the build up to Osaka Senior Women 20K Olive Loughnane Junior Women 10K Laura Reynolds Senior Men 20K Robert Heffernan Colin Griffin Jeff Cassin Senior Men 50K Jamie Costin Junior Men 10K Paul Fitzpatrick
