If you are intending to volunteer or work with Athletics Ireland clubs and committees you must complete the Garda vetting process before commencing such work. It is the responsibility of the individual and the club to ensure that their vetting has been completed with Athletics Ireland before commencing work or volunteering. Vetting lasts for four years.

Failure to comply with vetting will result in a delay in your ability to work or volunteer with Athletics Ireland until such time as your vetting process has been completed. Volunteering or working with children without a completed vetting application with Athletics Ireland is an offence under The National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012 to 2016. Clubs should ensure that all sports leaders are vetted.
