Mageean to run in Karlsruhe and Irish set for Armory Invitational

Elite action this weekend

UCD's Ciara Mageean will take on her first major test of the indoor season over 1500m in Karlsruhe tomorrow while three Irish athletes will compete in the Armory Invitational 

Mageean takes on a good field in Karsruhe including Mary Cain (USA), Selina Buchel (Switzerland) and Maureen Koster (Netherlands). The UCD athlete ran a solo 2:04.90 for 800m in the first round of the Indoor league in Athlone and will be looking to keep her good form going in Germany. The startlist is HERE

Meanwhile in New York, John Coghlan (Metro St Brigid's), John Travers (Donore Harriers) and Sara Treacy (Dunboyne) will compete in the Armory Track Invitational. Coghlan and Treacy will run in the respective men's and women's 3,000m while Travers will run in the mile. 

Earlier in the week Mark English (UCD) got his indoor campaign underway in Dusseldorf finishing second over 800m in 1:47.28. 

 

Sunday will see the AAI Games in Athlone with many of Ireland's leading athletes compete with the timetable seeing some changes HERE and entry list HERE
