The National Coaching Committee of the AAI are currently reviewing all National Coaching appointments with a view to Beijing 2008. The Honorary positions offered will be crucial to the long term player/athlete development and will prove challenging in these exciting times in Irish Athletics. All interested coaches should complete and return the attached form before Friday 29th April 2005 to: Chairman National Coaching Committee 11, Prospect Road Glasnevin Dublin 9 National Coach responsibilities include: Ø Development of coaches within their event group Ø Responsibility for developing the Coach and Athlete ‘Pathway ‘ Ø Assisting the Coaching Director in developing the overall coaching structure for the sport Ø Responsibility for developing National and Regional squad structures Ø Responsibility for developing coaching relationship with the elite athletes personal coach Ø Overall responsibility for development of event coaches and their recruitment nationally and regionally Ø Staff and develop coaching courses Ø Assist in developing talent identification programme Ø Attendance at International Coaching Conferences as required Ø Assisting the Coaching Director in developing the new coaching syllabi
