Action packed day at the Irish Life Health Tailteann Games

It was a busy weekend of action in Santry with the four provinces battling it out for glory at The Irish Life Health Tailteann Games. An exciting programme saw Leinster take overall glory with convincing wins for both the boys and girls.

The 800m lived up to expectations with impressive performances from Aaron Shorten (St Laserian’s Carlow) in a time of 1:57:12 , and Victoria Lightbody (Wallace HS Lisburn) taking the girls race in 2:12:81.

Orla Coffey (St. Angela’s Cork) lived up to the favouritism in the girls’ pole vault with a record winning jump of 3.50m.

A very competitive boys stepplechase saw Morgan Mac An Chleirigh (Colaiste Eoin) take the honours in a time of 4:41:00, with Klye Moorhead and Joseph Haynes back in second and third respectively.
