Run, Jump, Throw workshops: Craughwell & Loughrea

POSTED:

The Run, Jump, Throw workshops continued to Craughwell and Loughrea across Feb/March 2019. This is the second time the RJT Workshops have been held across Galway since the workshops kicked off in late 2018. The workshops were once again well attended with positive responses and feedback from all coaches.

Week 1 saw the RDO Paul Byrne cover Sprints and Shot Put in Craughwell. Week 2 was once again in Craughwell where Paul Byrne delivered the Javelin and Mary Barrett delivered an excellent Long Jump practical. The third and final weeks workshop had High Jump delivered by Mary and Hurdles given by Paul. In total 25 coaches and approx. 12 athletes took part  in the workshops across the three evenings. It was great to see such a wide number of clubs represented from around Galway as well as surrounding counties, some whom travelled long distances for the workshops.

The success of these workshops is continuing to grow nationwide with a number of RJT Workshops planned in numerous counties. Dates and venues of current RJT Workshops can be found HERE with plenty more dates and venues scheduled throughout the summer and beyond. Please contact you’re relevant Regional Development Officer for more information on these workshops. Contact details can be found HERE.

Thank you once again for Craughwell AC and St. Brigid’s Loughrea for hosting and to all coaches/athletes for coming along and learning something new.
