Women’s Team win Anglo Celtic Plate for the 1st time in it’s 26 year history

Olympian Caitriona Jennings (Letterkenny AC) led the Ireland Women’s Team to a first ever victory in the 26 year history of the Anglo Celtic Plate with a record breaking time of 7:43:01.  This beats the previous Irish record of 7:52:45 set by Helena Crossan (Inishowen Athletics) in Winschoten back in 2007.

In the Men’s race Scotland dominated with the top 3 finishers and Northern Ireland finished in second place.  Ireland’s A Team only had 2 athletes finishing with 3 needed to score.

The Anglo Celtic Plate was hosted by the Donadea 50k & 100K and it was also the National Championships.  In the 100K race Catriona Jennings claimed the Irish National 100K title with Gareth King from the Northern Ireland Team finishing first in the Men’s race with a new Northern Ireland 100k record of 7:12:30
