Olympic standard track officially opened at St Laurence O’Toole AC

Athletics Ireland would like to congratulate all in St Laurence O’Toole AC on the official opening of their new track in Carlow.

Olympic silver medalist John Treacy, Minister for Sport Thomas Byrne, and Athletics Ireland CEO Hamish Adams were among those present at the opening on Friday September 20th.

There was a superb turnout on the day with local athletics stars Aaron Shorten, Molly Scott, and Adam Nolan also among those in attendance.

Fittingly, the official opening of the new Olympic standard track comes hot on the heels of Paris 2024 and is sure to offer further inspiration to the young school and juvenile athletes in attendance to follow in the footsteps of their Olympic heroes.
