Rob Heffernan The race had all the leading race walkers in Europe taking part and was won by European champion and world silver medalist Paquillo Fernandez in a fast time of 39 minutes and 38 seconds just ahead of Olympic champion Ivano Beugnetti in 2nd place. Heffernan's time was 40 minutes and 30 seconds which is exceptional as he is in the midst of a heavy training block in his preparation for a very important year in 2008.
