Chamney closes on 4 Minute Mile: Boyle clocks 7.36 Thomas Chamney recorded a big win in the mile at the Notre Dame Invitational last night. Moving up in distance from his usual 800m he showed he will be a force over both distances this year. His winning time of 4:02.63 is one of the fastest in the States this indoor season. A small Irish team competed in Budapest last night and were rewarded with some excellent results. Anna Boyle raced twice over 60m, clocking 7.42 at the first attempt and then 7.36 to finish second in her second race. The European Indoor Championships in Birmingham is her main focus of the season. Sharon Heveron cleared 1.83m for second place in the high jump, while David McCarthy moved up in distance to finish second in the 800m, and Jason Smyth had two fast runs in the 60m.
