Doha in Qatar is quickly becoming a major venue for global athletics.  This week it was announced that it will host the IAAF World Championships in 2019.  On Friday (21st Nov) Doha welcomes the World 100K Championships and Ireland is represented in the men’s race.  Keith Whyte and Marty Rea will compete in what promises to be unfamiliar conditions for November for the Irish athletes.

Whyte is the Irish record holder for the distance and has been victorious in international competition including the Anglo Celtic Plate in 2012.  Rea is experienced at this level and was part of the team that finished 5th in Europe and 6th in the World championships in 2012.  The athletes will be supported by John Collins who will ensure that their hydration and refuelling needs are met.
