Athletics Ireland announce World Cross Country selection criteria Athletics Ireland’s selection policy for World Cross Country in Edinburgh 30th March will be as follows: § The first three finishers in the senior men and women races in the National Inter-Club Championships in Belfast on 1st March will be selected automatically § The first two finishers in the junior men and women races in the National Inter-Club Championships will be selected automatically § Additional individuals may be selected by the selection committee, based on performance. Participation in National Championships and current form are critical The World Cross Country team will be announced on Monday 3rd March. Team Manager Anne Keenan Buckley said, “The World Cross Country Championships is being held on our doorstep in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is a familiar course to the majority of Irish cross country runners. We hope that the athletes will embrace the challenge and intensity of this top level competition.
