The first tartan athletic track in the Cavan-Monaghan area is due to commence on site shortly following signing of contracts between Ballymena-based Sports Surfaces Ireland Ltd. and Shercock AC. The new track will replace the existing cinder track facility in Shercock which has been in use since 2000.
