Schools

Athletics Ireland supports and promotes schools’ athletics through its links with the Irish Schools’ Athletics Association (ISAA).

The ISAA is a cross-community organization with over 850 member schools, including 250 in Northern Ireland. An estimated 30,000 post primary students competed in ISAA competitions during 2008.

Competitions are organised on a district, regional and national level, and the ISAA also administers the annual Schools’ Internationals between Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.

The ISAA has been affiliated to Athletics Ireland since 2006 and has a seat on the Athletics Ireland Board.
