Development Team
Development Team Regions
Athletics Ireland’s Development Team is responsible for participation and club development programmes as well coaching education.
Our Development Team’s main areas of responsibility are:
- Little Athletics – a development programme for children between 5-10 years old
- Fit4Life – a programme for recreational runners and other adult participation initiatives
- Delivering coaching education through the Athletics Leader, Assistant Coach and Level 1 programmes
- Liaising with the Regional Coaches to deliver Regional Squads
- Club Support Scheme
- Providing assistance to new clubs including provision of equipment and coach education
- Liaising with clubs and Co. Boards to help them to achieve their goals
- Liaising with other sports development bodies such as Sports Partnerships and local Councils
