GloHealth Juvenile Children’s Games & National Combined Events Championships

Closer to home the GloHealth Juvenile Games and National Juvenile Combined Events Championships take place in Tullamore this coming Saturday, 27th of June. There is a packed programme of events, which will see over 800 of Ireland’s young athletic talent in action in a wide range of running, jumping and throwing events. All athletes competing over the weekend have qualified through from the five regional finals (Dublin, Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connacht) to reach the All-Ireland Finals. Juvenile Children's Games

The Juvenile children’s games provides a terrific atmosphere as Irelands brightest young athletes get the opportunity to race on track in front of the Tullamore crowd. The age ranges are set at U9, U10, and U11 with athletes competing in teams. The children’s games commence on the field at 10:00AM for the long jump events, while the track events begin at 11:00AM for the U9 girl’s 60m competition. The day continues with the long distance events for each age group beginning at 1:00PM. The games conclude with the relays which always provide a thrilling conclusion.

National Juvenile Combined Events

During the day the National Juvenile Combined Events will also be taking place, providing a multi-event competition for athletes aged between U14-16. The GloHealth National Combined Events Championship events include the hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot putt and long distance events. The day begins at 10:00am with the short distance hurdles event and will conclude with the 800m beginning at 10:45.
