A 36 strong Irish team will compete at the 2014 European Cross Country Championships in Somokov, Bulgaria this Sunday, 14th of December. The team is a mixture of established senior athletes including double European Cross Country Champion Fionnuala Britton (Kilcoole AC) and a host of up and coming junior and U23 athletes:

The 21st edition of these championships will include a six event programme (Junior, U23 & Senior) with full Irish teams entered in all six races, please see below timetable of events. RTE 2 will be covering the senior races live from 10.55am - 1pm.

Irish Performances at European Cross Country Championships
Since the inaugural European Cross Country Championships in 1994 Ireland has won 5 individual medals and 6 team medals. Indeed Catherina McKiernan was the first ever winner of the senior women’s race when the championships were first held in Alnwick in 1994.
