The European Athletics Indoor Championships take place in Prague (5th-8th March) with a twelve strong Irish team set to take on Europe’s best track and field athletes in an action packed weekend of competition. The championships have previously taken place in the Czech capital when it hosted the previously known European Athletics Championships in 1978.

The young Irish team with an average age of just 23 will be led by European 800m Bronze Medallist Mark English (UCD AC). English begins his campaign on Friday, 6th of March in the heats of the 800m at 11.41am IRL time.  Listen to English’s thoughts ahead of the championships on our team announcement video below:
