A strong Irish contingency will travel to Sheffield at the weekend to participate the AAA’s Championships in what promises to be a thrilling affair. Derval O’Rourke will be hoping to continue her winning streak and dip below her national record which she has already equaled once this season. David Gillick will race his first race indoor since his gold medal winning performance in Madrid last year in the 200m. David McCarthy will be confident in securing his ticket to Moscow for the World Indoor Championships by getting the 400m standard which he came so close to recently in Vienna. Emily Maher who started her season in style with 7:39 will also be seeking the world 60m qualification of 7:37. Also in action will be Sharon Heveran who posted a fantastic mark in Cardiff last weekend of 1:80 and will be hoping to improve on that again. See below for the full list of athletes in action in Sheffield. Elsewhere in action is Alistair Cragg in the 3000m in the Tyson Invitational and Roisin McGettigan in Boston.
