After the mandatory rechecks there have been a few small alterations from the published preliminary points totals after Round 1 of the AAI League. With the second round coming up in Cork and Santry on 6th Aug DSD are already looking ominously strong at the top of the Mens' Premier Div with only North Down, Clonliffe and County Limerick within 10 points. The surprise of the round in fact was at the other end of the table where a weakened Crusaders languish in 10th place. If back to strength however they can still be a force. In women's Premier newly promoted Bandon on 112 lead the field by a clear 7 points with only SLOT also over 100 points. With only three teams not making the final however, all of the 11 can still harbour realistic hopes of being in Tullamore in late August, so every point will be fought for. Division 1 Women has been taken by storm by City of Lisburn with 122 points, but Meath and Finn Valley head a close list vying for runner up spot, but again most of the entrants will not have given up hope of surviving for a third outing. In Mens' Div 1 no less then 10 clubs have scored over 100 with another 5 in the nineties; this is a dogfight which will make for two great athletics meetings. City of Derry lead on 124 ahead of Togher/ Belgooley and Shercock on 118 and Meath on 114.
