All you need to know about Autumn Open Cross Country

Autumn Open Cross Country Statpack

The Autumn Open Cross Country is fast approaching which will have the perfect blend between recreational and competitive running. The open 5km will see Sonia O'Sullivan run the route for fun ahead of the Dublin marathon and all 5k runners will get a unique finishers medal - a replica of Sonia's world 5,000m gold in Gothenburg in 1995. The Masters will be vying for international selection between the 5km and 8km races while all of Ireland's leading juniors will be running along with some the leading senior cross country athletes ahead of the GloHealth National Interclubs cross country championships in November and the European cross in December. All you need to know is below:  

When: 2pm on the 18th of October

Registration  and event info: Donore Harriers clubhouse, Chapelizod. Get the lowdown on the event flyer here

Where: Magazine Fort, Phoenix Park

Events: 5k open and 8k open - non Athletics Ireland club members can take part

Gender: Mixed races

Loops: 2k loops and 1k loops

5k format: 2 by 2k loop and then a 1k loop - this is to allow for the junior girls who are running 4k

Masters trials: The women will run in the 5km race to be eligible for international selection

O65 men: Must do 5k race to be eligible for international selection
