The final race of the American Collegiate season was held today at Terre Haute, Indiana where the National championships were staged. The championships were relayed live on the web for the first time and featured a thrilling battle up front for the first two places. Best of the Irish was Andrew Ledwith from Iona College in 31st place with a time of 30:28, a performance that contributed in no small way to the fantastic second place finish of Iona in the team contest. Big congratulations go to Iona head coach Mick Byrne for the achievement. Not too far behind was junior David McCarthy from Ray Treacy's Procidence College who was 84th in 31:00.6, placing him sixth Freshman overall.
