There will be two development teams competing at the Antrim IAAF International Cross County this Saturday, 14th of March. The men’s team is led by Liam Brady (Tullamore Harriers AC) while the junior women’s team includes many of the athletes who competed last weekend at the GloHealth All Ireland Schools Cross Country in Clongowes Wood College.
Brady has shown encouraging recent form having won the Intervarsity Cross Country Title with ease last Sunday. Previous to this Brady comprehensively won the GloHealth National Intermediate title in Tuam on the 8th of February. Darragh Rennicks (Bohermeen AC) who finished second behind Brady in Tuam will also compete in Antrim.
Junior Women
Rhona Pierce (Leevale AC) and Hope Saunders (Clonliffe Harriers AC) placed first and second respectively in the senior girl’s race at the GloHealth All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships. Both athletes will lock horns once again in the junior women’s race which incorporates the home countries international.
Action gets underway with the junior women’s race at 13.20 and concludes with the senior men’s race at 14.35.
