Athletics Ireland Seeking Two Key Appointments

The Athletic Association of Ireland is in the process of developing a new strategy for the sport in Ireland. This will result in integrating all aspects of the sport under a single effective organization. The new organisation will be responsible for developing the sport in three major areas i.e. mass participation, underage and elite athletes. The strategy will revolve around increased participation in the sport and the development of a coaching roadmap to develop our Athletes to compete and win medals at European, World and Olympic Games. The Association are now seeking to make two key appointments to lead the new organisation through the next period of it’s development and implement the key actions from the Strategic Review. Chief Executive Officer The ideal candidate will: Have senior management experience. Have excellent leadership and management qualities with the ability to take charge of the day to day operation of the sport guiding the organization through a significant business transformation programme. Ability to be the voice of the sport and represent the organization in meetings with key agencies, stakeholders, sponsors and the media. Ability to develop and implement marketing and commercial programmes which will generate additional resources and opportunities for the organisation. Have a good understanding and an interest in sport. Financial Accountant The Association is also seeking to recruit a financial accountant who will be responsible for the financial management of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven capacity for financial modeling in a modern organization and will have a progressive approach to funding the development of the sport. The successful candidate should hold a qualification from a recognised accounting body. This is an exciting time to join a new organization which is committed to the implementation of the changes required to develop Irish Athletics to compete internationally. The new Association is seeking people who have the drive energy and enthusiasm to deliver for the benefit of the sport. The remuneration package will be competitive and will support the Association’s drive to attract the right talent into the organisation.
