Athletics Ireland Successful Jumps Coaching Weekend

Held in Donegal Town Athletics Ireland Coaches from all over the North West attended a High and Long Jump two days practical coaching seminar at the Abbey Voc. School, in Donegal Town over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Three times Olympian Maeve Kyle and husband Sean via a number of intensive, informative and inter active sessions covered the technical skills/modal of both disciplines, specific conditioning for the jumps and the fundamentals re the developing athlete. Athletics Ireland, Regional Development Officer, Eamon Harvey, at the conclusion of the seminar, thanked all the club and schools coaches for their attendance, the Principal of the Abbey Voc School for the use of excellent facilities, Donegal Sports Partnership for very generous assistance and sponsorship and the local St John Bosco Athletics club for showing great initiative in affording local coaches the opportunity to upskill their knowledge He concluded – ‘ to have Sean and Maeve Kyle, two of Europe’s top technical athletics coaches share their knowledge over the past two days with us here in Donegal is indeed a great boost and resource for all our club coaches as they assist in developing the talents of our numerous young, developing athletes’ Jumps Coaching Seminar in Donegal Town
