Bank Bags Baddeley for Cup match Logo Beijing hopeful Andy Baddeley will race over 800m at the Bank of Scotland Cup on Tuesday July 1st, it was confirmed today. Baddeley, Britain’s number one 1500m runner who finished ninth in the IAAF World Championships 1500m in August 2007, is currently ranked fourth in the UK over 800m and has a best of 1:46.32 for the distance. At the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 6th Baddeley set an impressive personal best time for the mile of 3:49.38, demonstrating his current form ahead of this summer’s Olympic Games. He passed through 1500m in 3:34.36, placing him 15th on the UK All-Time list. "The Bank of Scotland Cup will be my final race before the Olympic trials,” he said. “A match format 800m, following a match 3000m at the European Cup and a Grand Prix mile in Oslo fits my plans very well. I have heard good things about this event and look forward to racing in Grangemouth on 1st July." The action will be screened live on Sky Sports 2 between 7pm and 9pm
