Bechtina the golden girl at Irish Life Health national masters

Snezana Bechtina (Clonliffe Harriers) bagged four gold medals at an engaging Irish Life Health National Masters Championships in Tullamore today.

Bechtina has impressed since entering the masters category in the W35 section. She won the 100m in 13.06, the 200m in 25.93, the 400m in 58.77 and the long jump in 4.74m.

Sean Breathnach (Galway City Harriers), who competed for Ireland at the European Team Championships last week, won the M35 discus with 45.16m.

Jer O’Donoghue (An Riocht) was in flying form in the M35 section winning the 100m in 11.17 and the 200m in 23.34. Matt Slattery (Clonliffe Harriers) was another to win one of the 200m in 29.24 in the M65 age group.

Con Hearty (DSD) was one of the oldest winners in the M80 800m with a time of 6:49.33 with Terri Gough (West Waterford) winning the women's W70 100m in 22.92.

Anne Gilshinan (Menapians) impressed in the W50 800m with a time of 2:26.26.
