It is with deep regret we report the death, after a short illness, of Bobby Rea Chairman Northern Ireland Athletic Federation. Bobby was also coach and founder member of Abbey AC. His lifetime contribution to the sport has been enormous and his expertise will be missed in many areas but most notably to his beloved Abbey AC. With the latter he had the proud distinction in the past two years of winning the national inter-club championship in Tullamore and then leading the team in the European Club championship in Turkey last June. Bobby was also proud to lead the Northern Ireland team in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne last March. The Board of Athletics Ireland wish to convey its condolences to his wife Carolyn, children Neil and Tina and to the wider community of athletics in Northen Ireland. The funeral will take place in Roselawn Crematorium, Belfast on Friday 17th November at 1pm
