2007 Eagle AC 25k series Perfect conditions for running prevailed on Sunday morning, February 18, in Carrigaline, Co. Cork for the annual Carrigaline road race promoted by Cork city and county club, Eagle AC. The normal 5 mile distance was modified slightly for 2007 to an 8k distance, to fit in to the 25k series being held to mark the 25th anniversary of the club. The second race in the series, a 7k road run, will take place in Little Island on April 29 and the series finale will be in Whitechurch over a 10k distance on June 24. 222 runners crossed the finish line in a new record for the event, which has now been run for 19 years. Eagle AC are celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2007. Check the Eagle AC website (www.eagleac.net) for more details.
