At just 17 years of age Andrew, who was competing in his first ever senior All-Ireland competition, took the national senior shot-put title. His winning throw of 14.53 came in the fourth round and was victorious ahead of Sam Vines and Callum Keating. To add to this phenomenal story, it was Coopers first time throwing the heavier 7.26kg shot – put compared to his previous throwing weight of just 6kg, which makes his achievements all the more remarkable.
