Venue: Glenalbyn Sports Club, Kilmacud The Sports Development Office in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, in conjunction with the Irish Sports Council, are holding a workshop in the area of Code of Ethics and Best Practice for Children's Sport on:
Date: Saturday 24th March 2007
Times: 10 am to 3 pm
Venue: Glenalbyn Sports Club, Kilmacud
This course will provide general information for coaches / leaders / volunteers / community workers and parents and organisations who are currently working with children in a sports environment, or are interested in working with children on future sporting events, programmes, etc. The Code of Ethics & Good Practice for Children's Sport is designed to provide guidance for those working with young people in sport and to outline to sports organisations the types of issues that need to be discussed and addressed to provide the safest, most enjoyable environment for children. The aim of the Code is to create a child-centred approach to sport for young people. Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A fee of €10.00 per person will apply. If any members of your club are interested in attending then please send your application to: Sports Development Office, Din Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, County Hall, Marine Road, Din Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. The course being run on the 24th February is now full and only a few places are available on the 24th March.
