It promises to be a busy weekend of athletics at Morton Stadium as the 123.ie National Combined Events Championships and AAI Games take centre stage.

The 123.ie National Combined Events Championships get underway on Saturday with senior athletes contesting the Heptathlon and Decathlon titles over two days. Defending women’s Heptathlon champion Laura Frawley (Tipperary AC) returns after claiming gold last year with a winning tally of 4,738 points and will be aiming to retain her national crown.

Sunday sees the AAI Games bring together a host of Ireland’s leading athletes, with Sophie Becker, Jack Raftery, Cillin Greene, Emma Moore, Katie Bergin, Marcus Lawler, Sarah Buggy and Anna Gavigan among some of the standout names set to compete across the sprints, hurdles, middle-distance, jumps and throws.
