Everything is in place for another memorable Cork City Sports at the UCC Grounds The Mardyke tomorrow. As UCC President Michael Murphy said at a reception at the track earlier today "The Mardyke is the most popular and celebrated of sporting venues in Cork" Down through the years some of the leading athletes in the world have competed at the famous track. The women's 400m will see Aliann Pompey from Guyana competing. She is coached by former Irish sprint champion Joe Ryan who is the assistant coach at Manhattan College where Aliann is a student. She competes at the Beijing Olympics and Joe Ryan will be there with her as coach to the Guyanan team. She was present at today's reception as was Alistair Cragg who is looking forward to competing tomorrow. Read below the start lists for tomorrow (subject to updates).
