Cragg to Lead Irish Men at European Cross Country

Alaistar Cragg has been named in the Mens team to compete in the European Cross Country Championships in Tilburg on December 11th.Alaistar missed the outdoor track season after his indoor victory in the European Indoors and has returned to action in two recent road races in the USA. Gary Murray who has been having a very impressive cross country season is also named in the team as is Mark Kenneally and Gareth Trumnbull. Sligo’s David Kelly achieves recognition at this level for the first time after his great run on Sunday and Martin Fagan of Mullingar is also selected after some good runs in the USA. Jolene Byrne leads a womens team that includes Fionnuala Britton,Rosemary Ryan,Aoife Byrne,Orla O’Mahoney and Mary Cullen who is based in the USA. The junior inter counties champions lead their respective teams with Colin Costolloe and Danny D’Arcy named in the mens junior squad subject to fitness both having missed the Sligo event due to injury and illness.
