Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) will host the GloHealth Intercounties and Even Age Cross Country Championships on the 23rd of November. After successfully hosting the 2013 Inter Club Cross Country Championships, DKIT have been awarded these prestigious championships. The championships will bring together many of Ireland’s leading cross country athletes as the race acts as a trial for the European Cross Country Championships in Bulgaria on the 14th of December. Ireland’s next generation of stars will also be on show as nearly 1,500 juvenile athletes will contest the GloHealth Even Age Cross Country Championships
Clonliffe Harriers
North Dublin power house club Clonliffe Harriers AC will host the GloHealth Novice and Un-Even Age Cross Country Championships in Santry Demesne on the 7th of December. The National Novice Championships historically attracts large numbers with 222 men and 120 women competing in last year’s senior races. As always the day will begin with the juvenile club athletes from all across the country battling it out for the national individual and team titles in the Un-Even Age Cross Country Championships.
Autumn Open Cross Country
Prior to these two events the Autumn Open Cross Country Event promoted by Athletics Ireland will take place at the Magazine Fort in the Phoenix Park on Sunday, 19th of October. The event is open to non-Athletics Ireland members and aims to encourage those that take to the roads every weekend to come along and try a different style of racing on the country. There will be a choice of an open 5km race starting at 2.15pm or an 8km race starting at 3pm open to both men and women. Online entry for both these races is now available:
