DCH and Tallaght top Round 1 of the Indoor League

Good turnout for League round 1 

An excellent turnout for the first round of the Indoor League in Athlone saw Dublin City Harrrier's women and Tallaght's men leading the early stakes with a number of excellent individual performances including UCD's Ciara Mageean clocking 2:04.90 over 800m. 

There was big numbers in the 800m and European Youth Olympic 1500m gold medallist, Kevin McGrath (Bohermeen), topped the pile with the fastest run of the day running 1:53.59. John Travers (Donore Harriers) won the league match with a front-running 1:54.11. Ciara Mageean was the fastest guest in the women's section with her afforementioned 2:04.90 with Leevale's Andrea Bickerdike winning the women's league race with 2:19.35. 

Catherine McManus was a key scoring member for the DCH women with a win in the 60m hurdles in 8.65 seconds and a third place finish in the shot put with 8.12m. 

Joseph Ojewumi and Joshua Essuman took important victories for the Tallaght men in the 60m and 60m hurdles respectively. Ojewumi clocked 7.06 seconds in the 60m with Essuman hurdling to 8.87 seconds in the 60m hurdles.
