There was no luck for Ireland’s Emma O’Hara (Galway City Harriers AC) in the final of the women’s hammer at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday, 24th of July.

O’Hara had performed brilliantly to qualify for the World Final after throwing 57.17m in the qualification round a day previous. In the final itself O’Hara finished in eleventh place with a best throw of 56.28m.

Next up for the Irish team is Marcus Lawler (St Laurence O’Toole AC), Zac Irwin (Sligo AC), Niamh McNicol (Ferrybank AC) and Cliodhna Manning (Kilkenny City Harriers AC) who go in the heats of the 200m this evening.
