Euro Champ Gillick Runs Personal Best in Turin Opener

European Indoor 400m Champion David Gillick (DSD) opened his outdoor campaign in excellent fashion with a personal best 45.93 performance in Turin on Friday night. Gillick became the 5th Irishman to run under 46 seconds for the one lap event and in the process secured the World Championships B standard for Helsinki; the A standard is set at 45.55. His previous outdoor best was 46.27 set last year. Gillick finished 5th in a competitive international field headed by Jamaica's Olympic Finalist Davian Clarke who won the race in 45.52.
