Athletics Ireland's selection policies for the 2023 European U20 Championships and the 2023 European U23 Championships have been published here.

The European U20 Championships will take place in Jerusalem, Israel, from the 7th to the 10th August and is a critically important step on the international competition pathway for our emerging athletes. The last edition of these championships was Irelands most successful to date, with Rhasidat Adeleke, Cian McPhillips and Nicholas Griggs each earning medals.

The European U23 Championships will take place in Espoo, Finland from the 13th to the 16th July and will be a key event building towards Paris 2024 for some of our most talented young athletes. The 2021 edition saw David Kenny emerge as a potential future star afyer a silver medal in the 20km Walk.
