European U20 Championships standards achieved this weekend

Tón Le Gaoithe, Waterford RSC

Both the Junior Girls and Junior Boys 4 X 100m realy teams acheived the qualifying standard for the European U20 Championships which will take place in Grosseto, Italy later this summer in Waterford this weeeknd.  

The girls 4x100m ran 46.09 which was under the qualifying standard of 46.20. 

Junior Girls 4 x 100m Team:

Molly Scott                St. L.O’T

Sharlene Mawdsley    Newport

Gina Akpe-Moses      Blackrock

Ciara Neville              Emerald

The boys 4 x 100m team ran 41.20 which is the qualifying standard. 

Junior Boys 4 x 100m Team:

Aaron Sexton            North Down

David McDonald        Menapians

Mark Smyth              Raheny

Joseph Ojewumi       Tallaght

Both the girls and the boys Junior 4 x 400m teams ran extremely well but were just outside the qualifying standards.  

British Milers Club, Solihull

There were also four European U20 Championships standards achieved at the British Milers Club meet in Solihull.  

Alex O'Neill (St Cronan's) 2:09.53 800m
Darragh McElhinney (Bantry) 3:49.32 1500m
Charlie O Donovan (Leevale) 3:49.79 1500m
Jodie McCann (DSD) 4.26.83 1500m
