Eric Favors (Raheny Shamrock) has broken his own Irish indoor shot put record with a superb 20.16m throw to finish 3rd in a top class field in Germany this afternoon (Feb 5th).

In breaking the record, Favors becomes the first Irish athlete to throw over 20 meters indoors for  the shot put. The performance was made all the more impressive in that Favors had also posted a 20.03m with his first throw of today’s competition, before following up with the superb 20.16m best on his next valid attempt.

The new personal best improves on his previous 19.99m set on January 20th and continues a remarkable run of form by the Raheny star which has seen him break the national indoor and outdoor shot put records on multiple occasions last season.
