The final Forest Feast Summer Camps finished recently in St. Joseph’s AC  Kilkenny. The camp was held over two separate weeks and it was well attended on both weeks. The camps will give children the chance to try a whole range of fun athletics activities such as: Sprinting • Javelin • Hurdles • Shot putt • Long jump • Walks • Relays.A chance for children to sprint like David Gillick and jump like Kelly Proper - the camps provide boys and girls with an exciting week of athletics activities! As well as learning new skills, making new friends whilst having lots of fun each child will go home with a New Balance T-shirt, Spike Bag, Water Bottle, Medal and Participation Certificate.

The participants were put through their paces by a selection of young coaches who were well prepared with activities for the campers. All the young athletes were given exposure to each of the track and field events, had an hour of education each day and above all had fun. The creativity and ingenuity that the kids displayed in the construction of obstacle courses to test the various ways in which they could move were fantastic, not to mention the Skeletons that they manufactured while learning about the bones in the body. This week marked the end for the kids summer camps but it is only the beginning of their athletic careers.
